Kitchen Attendant Helper
The Kitchen Attendant Helper is task to support the catering team on a mine site. The role involves assisting with cleaning, basic food preparation, kitchen maintenance, and ensuring a safe and hygienic work environment. This position is crucial to maintaining smooth kitchen operations in a remote, high-volume catering environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks (e.g., washing, peeling, cutting ingredients).
• Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen areas including floors, surfaces, and storage
• Wash dishes, pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using manual or automatic dishwashing
• Ensure proper storage of ingredients and supplies, following food safety
• Dispose of waste and recycling properly and
• Replenish kitchen supplies (e., napkins, utensils, condiments) as needed.
• Help with unpacking and storing food
• Follow all food hygiene and health & safety procedures
• Support kitchen staff during busy service hours as directed.
Qualifications/Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in kitchen, cleaning, or hospitality roles is preferred
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment
Working Conditions
Position based at the OKO Project site. Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
Compensation Package
1-year contract for the construction period, with the possibility of a permanent position once the mine is in operation. Competitive Salary Competitive benefits, bonus and group insurances.
