About this role
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Learns to perform any combination of sample preparation tasks to ensure sample homogeneity which includes but is not limited to labeling, transferring, liquid nitrogen use, milling, blending, weighing, disposal of samples, etc.Learns to communicate sample informationCommunicates discrepancies to appropriate personnelLearns to handle internal customer inquiries and requestsPerforms other related duties as assignedThe ideal candidate would possess:
Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies 6+ months of related experience desiredCustomer service skills including attention to detail, accuracy, confidentiality, and communication skillsAbility to identify and communicate customer service needsOvertime and weekend work as requiredWill be exposed to potential food allergens (ex. Milk, tree nuts, peanuts, fish, shellfish, etc.)Physical requirements include, but are not limited to: standing, bending, reaching and liftingMay work in walk-in cold storage unitsTrained in handling potentially hazardous chemicals or materialsMust be able to lift up to 50 lbs. for short periods of timeWork requires PPE (personal protective equipment)Mandatory immunizations and screenings as requiredReside within commutable distance to Madison, WI What we Offer:
