Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead to lead the quality assurance automation strategy for our eCommerce platform. The ideal candidate will be responsible for defining automation frameworks, leading a team of automation engineers, and ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable releases across web, mobile, and backend systems. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a deep understanding of eCommerce workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Strategy & Leadership
Define and own the test automation strategy for web, mobile, and API layers of the eCommerce platformLead, mentor, and manage a team of automation test engineersDrive best practices for test automation, CI/CD integration, and test data managementCollaborate with QA Managers, Product Owners, Architects, and Developers to align quality goalsTest Automation Development:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using industry-standard toolsImplement automated test coverage for:Product catalog, search, and recommendationsShopping cart, checkout, and payment gatewaysOrder management, fulfillment, and returnsPromotions, pricing, and tax calculationsUser authentication and profile managementEnsure automation supports cross-browser, cross-device, and multi-region testingCI/CD & DevOps Integration
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)Enable automated execution for smoke, regression, and sanity test suitesAnalyze pipeline failures and optimize execution time and reliabilityQuality Assurance & Testing Oversight
Review test plans, test cases, and automation scripts for quality and coverageEnsure proper balance between manual and automated testingDefine and track automation metrics such as coverage, stability, and defect leakagePerform root cause analysis of production issues related to test gapsCollaboration & Agile Practices
Actively participate in agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives)Work closely with development teams to enable shift-left testingAdvocate for quality throughout the SDLCReporting & Communication
Provide regular status updates on automation progress, risks, and release readinessPresent automation metrics and quality insights to stakeholders and leadershipIdentify and propose improvements to tools, processes, and workflowsRequired Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or WebDriverIOExperience in API automation using tools like RestAssured, Postman, or KarateProficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScriptExperience with test frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, Mocha, Jest)Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (Git)Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker)Experience with performance or security testing tools is a pluseCommerce Domain Knowledge
Strong understanding of eCommerce business flows and integrationsExperience testing payment gateways, third-party integrations, and microservicesKnowledge of SEO, analytics, and tracking validation is a plusLeadership & Soft Skills
Proven ability to lead and mentor automation teamsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesAbility to balance hands-on automation with leadership responsibilitiesStrong ownership mindset and attention to detailMandatory:
8+ years of experience in software testing and quality assurance3+ years of experience leading automation initiatives or QA teamsExperience working in Agile/Scrum environments

MCA or Bachelors in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL CRITERIA: Eurofins has a strong focus on Performance Management system. This includes quarterly calibrations, half-yearly reviews and annual reviews. The KPIs shall be set and may vary slightly between projects. These will be clearly communicated, documented during the first 30 days of your joining.
