About this role
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Contract Manager to join the EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Ltd Sizewell B Supply Chain Team managing circa £30m per annum. This pivotal role will involve working with a combination of key partners, suppliers and stakeholders responsible for delivering refuelling activities to maintain the station and keep our customers in the supply of electricity.
The Opportunity
The UK nuclear market is competitive, complex and experiencing substantial change with new competitors, changing technology and demanding clients. Beyond this, Sizewell B is developing at pace with its current plans to extend operating life until 2055 or beyond. In your role, you will work closely with the Contract Lead and Commercial Group Head and be responsible for managing major contracts.
You will be at the heart of the Contract Management team and will be expected to demonstrate commercial leadership, pace, rigour, and drive delivery in contract performance. Further, you will engage closely with Outage Management, Engineering, Procurement and Quality Assurance teams driving performance, developing relationships with suppliers, and identifying commercial opportunities and service improvements.

What you’ll be doing
There is a real opportunity to take ownership of these agreements and to deliver exceptional service to our internal and external customers. Key duties will include:
Managing the performance of key contractors in accordance with the relevant contract requirements and business operational needs, to ensure best value and services from suppliers are achieved in terms of cost, quality, and productivityBuilding relationships with key stakeholders and communicating relevant contractual information as requiredIdentifying and implementing opportunities and improvements for commercial efficiencies across operational activities and contractsLeading on contract negotiationsProviding contract-related issue resolution to supplier disputes or escalationsEnsuring that all processes followed are in line with legislation and company policiesCompleting contract close-out, reviewing contracts for extension or renewal, and assisting procurement teams where applicable for re-procurementWho you are
What you should bring to the role:
HNC or equivalent in a business or commercial disciplineStrong experience of Contract Management preferableSubstantial contract negotiation experienceExperience in working with main and minor contractorsExperience in financial control including cost control and other processes would be beneficialAbility to deliver information and influence internal & external stakeholders at all levelsExcellent communication skillsSelf-motivatedHave exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical skillsStrong MS office skills, ability to work to deadlines and highly organisedSAP experience preferred but not essentialTo be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
