About this role
Duties and Responsibilities
• Greet all customers in a friendly manner and provide assistance with selecting products.
• Maintain accurate technical knowledge of the Agilysys Point-of-Sales System.
• Understand all cash handling processes and financial opening and end of shift procedures.
• Operate a cash register and handle all cash and debit/credit card transactions.
• Perform daily housekeeping to maintain store cleanliness throughout shift.
• Ensure that all display racks and shelves are organized.
• Have in depth product knowledge of all items sold in stores and drive sales through suggestive selling.
• Educate customers about current sales promotions (if any).
• Assist with inventory, including receiving and stocking merchandise.
• Restock shelves using the FIFO (First In First Out) rotation method.
• Keep record of special or highly requested items and advise management .
• Notify management of any low stock items.
• Check product expiration dates daily and notify management of upcoming expirations.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
Job Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent education
• Basic reading, writing skills, and mathematical skills
• Strong sales and communication skills
• Telephone etiquette
• Avaliable to work a variety of hours, which may include mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
• Previous retail experience preferred
