Development of new rubber and composite materials, material platforms and innovative technologies for ContiTech Industry productsDevelopment of new processable rubber compound materials meeting the requirements of the product (align with process and product design)Ensure conformity to rules and (customer) standards as well as legislation for platform materials (e.g. FDA, ESH, REACH)- consider sustainable material solutions (renewable & recycled feedstock, degradable materials, substitutes with lower carbon footprint)Leading R&D projects with high business criticalityProvide technical expertise, drive knowledge sharing, and support project teams in problem-solvingCentral contact for the area of responsibility for ContiTech worldwideIntroduction of new formulations to manufacturing plants, driving sustainability & innovation, cost & quality improvements, along with compound consolidationSupport the serial introduction phase of new products, including testing & process, together with relevant departments and functionsManagement and evaluation of material tests. Including rheological, mechanical, chemical, physical, and forensic analysisIdentify and implement processing optimization potentials for topics such as surface treatments, bonding, compounding/mixing, vulcanization, calendaring, extrusion, and injection & transfer mouldingDrive activities to improve and standardize procedures as a part of a lean and agile organizationWork together with other R&D functions (Research, Process Development, Product Development, Material Testing), Operations and Business Areas Academic degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or similarSolid background in development of rubber, elastomers, composites, or similar materials; including testing and data analysisComprehensive experience in rubber, composites, or plastic production processesStrong analytical skills - problem solving, decision making, data classification, examination of correlations, etc.Strong customer-oriented thinking, ownership, and collaboration skillsSense of urgency in completing projects on time and effectivelyIntercultural fluency – Ability to work with people from different cultures around the worldProject management experienceFluent English language skills We want our employees to do well with us.
