Role Specific Responsibilities • Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs • Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families • Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team. • Provide in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients • Demonstrate ability to use clinical judgement in conjunction with critical thinking to recognize, act upon, and report changes in patient condition. • Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record • Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care • Supervision and delegation responsibilities of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed assistant personnel • Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service professionals • Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure. • Float to other SIH nursing units within competency level
