General Summary:
Under the direction of the physician/provider, provides nursing care in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
Essential Functions:
• Clinical Duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Taking medical histories - documenting completely and accurately in the EMR
• Preparing patients for examinations and as needed assisting the medical provider during examinations
• Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens including urine, swabs, blood, or other as required
• Performing basic in-office procedures such as ear cleanings or other minor clinical procedures at the direction of the medical providers
• Performing basic Point of Care testing such as finger stick and urine dip
• Providing education and instruction to the patient based on the medical provider's assessment and plan.
• Preparing and administering medications/vaccines/immunizations, including intramuscular, intradermal, and subcutaneous injections—as directed by a physician or other licensed provider (e.g., a nurse practitioner or physician assistant)
• Performing EKG/ECG

Administrative Duties (may include, but not limited to):
• Using computer applications and Electronic Medical Record
• Answering telephones and calling patients with results or other clinical information designated by the provider
