About this role
• Refer patients to medical specialists, social services or other professionals as appropriate.
• Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities and patient function while adhering to regulator, ethical and surgical standards.
• Direct, coordinate, or supervise the patient care activities of nursing or support services.
• Write patient discharge summaries.
• Conduct discharge planning and discharge patients.
• Communicate with patients' primary care physicians upon hospital discharge to maintain continuity and quality of care.
• Prescribe medications or treatment regimens as appropriate.
• Order or interpret the results of tests such as laboratory tests and radiography (x-rays) and advanced imaging.
• Performs standard office duties, including excision, incision and drainage.
• Attend inpatient consultations in areas of specialty.
• Diagnose, treat, or provide continuous care to patients.
• Admit patients for hospital stays and surgical procedures.
• Participate in Medical Group meetings, Leadership meetings and Physician committees upon request.
• Other duties as assigned.
