Position Overview
The Welder will operate specialized welding machines to join sheet metal components, ensuring high-quality construction for elevator parts. This position requires technical skill, precision, and adherence to safety protocols in a dynamic shop environment.
Essential Functions
• Operate single and multi-head spot welding equipment.
• Operate Tig welder
• Operate Mig welder
• Set up welding machines according to specifications and project requirements.
• Inspect and test welds for strength, durability, and precision.
• Clean and maintain welding tips and equipment as needed.
• Perform manual handling of materials using small hand tools.
• Complete necessary paperwork and data entry accurately.
Position Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in steel fabrication and welding.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
Skills & Abilities
• Strong work ethic with a desire to develop comprehensive manufacturing skills.
• Knowledge of welding processes and steel fabrication.
• Ability to lift heavy materials up to 100 lbs. using proper lifting techniques.
• Familiarity with using small tools and machinery.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks, take direction, and complete assignments on time.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints
Physical and Working Conditions
• Regularly requires walking, standing, bending, and stooping.
• Must have good manual dexterity and vision to handle objects and perform detailed work.
• Primarily works in a shop environment with varying temperatures, noise, dust, and dirt.
