About this role
Prior to the patient receiving services from medical staff:. Obtains relevant patient medical history summaries Takes patient vital signs (weight, blood pressure, etc.) Documents medical history summaries and vital signs in the electronic medical record Prepares patients for examination and explains treatment procedures to patients as needed. Collects and prepares laboratory specimens, and may perform basic laboratory tests on the premises. Disposes contaminated supplies.
