Job Description: As a Homemaker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and comfort of individuals within their homes by providing comprehensive homemaking services. Your responsibilities will include performing household tasks and managing home-related activities. You will contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and nurturing environment for individuals to thrive in their homes.
Responsibilities:
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces.
• Manage the laundry services including washing, drying, folding, and putting away clothes.
• Monitor overall cleanliness and tidiness of the home environment.
• Ensure adherence to hygiene and safety standard within the home.
• Assist in managing household activities such as arranging transportation, meal preparation, and shopping for groceries, clothing, and household supplies.
• Provide support with simple household repairs and maintenance tasks.
• Coordinate and organize home-related tasks efficiently to enhance the functionality and comfort of the living space.
• Monitor home safety measures and address any potential hazards.
• Maintain clear and respectful communication with individuals, their families, and caregivers regarding their preferences, needs, and concerns.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, case managers, and other team members to ensure holistic care and support for individuals.
• Document relevant information accurately and timely, including daily activities, observations, and any notable incidents.
• Stay updated on best practices, guidelines, and regulations related to homemaking services.
• Participate in training programs, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skill and knowledge in caregiving and home management.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and professional growth in the field of homemakers.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require additional education or certifications)
• Previous experience in a similar role or working with individuals with developmental disabilities, mental health concerns, or related populations is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, person-centered care and support.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a team.
• Ability to maintain professional boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical standards.
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in documenting services accurately.
• Physical ability to assist individuals with mobility, lifting, and personal care needs as required.
• Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Current auto liability insurance.
• Ability to drive own vehicle while working.
• Acceptable clearance of background check.
• Must be dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Must be observant and detail oriented.
