Position Summary: Under the supervision of the departmental Nursing Director, and the approved Registered Nurse (RN), the Nurse Extern is responsible for utilizing the nursing process in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care in order to learn and better prepare for a nursing career. The Extern is responsible for providing culturally sensitive care that is appropriate for the patient’s developmental age under direct observation and guidance of the assigned RN. The Extern effectively interacts with patients, family members, and other health team members. The Extern must maintain the standards of professional nursing and follow the guidelines listed in the job
