About this role
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare, review, and submit customs documentation for import and export shipments
• Ensure compliance with regulations set by Royal Malaysian Customs Department
• Classify goods using HS codes and determine duties, taxes, and exemptions
• Liaise with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs officers for shipment clearance.
• Stay updated on current customs regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Communicate and coordinate with forwarders, shipping agents, transporters, and customs officers when necessary
• Monitor shipment status and resolve any customs-related issues or delays
• Maintain accurate records of all customs transactions and documentation
• Advise clients on customs regulations, import/export restrictions, and duty optimization
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and agreements
• Support audits and ensure adherence to internal SOPs and compliance standards
• Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time
Experience / Requirements
• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or logistics
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian customs procedures and tariff classification
• Good understanding of Incoterms and international trade practices
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong understanding of import/export processes, customs regulations, and documentation requirements
• Knowledge of customs declaration procedures and freight forwarding operations
• Relevant working experience in logistics, shipping, or customs brokerage is an added advantage
