About this role
POSITION SUMMARY:
Plans, leads, and implements camp program for youth. Provides high-quality educational and recreational opportunities and enjoyable experiences for camp participants. Ensures campers and ensure their safety, development, growth, skill achievement and general well-being. These individuals will work with youth ages 5-16.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Plans, coordinates, and organizes camp activities for youth.
• Supervises and participates with campers at activity sites.
• Mentors and guides youth individually and in groups while using a behavior management system to shape youth behavior.
• Builds relationships with all campers showing compassions, empathy and understanding.
• Sets an example for behavior and attitude for campers.
• Maintains attendance daily, at the beginning and throughout the day.
• Maintains required camp data.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with parents/guardians.
• Transports campers to and from activity sites.
• Performs other duties as assigned to promote the overall mission and vision of CND.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
• Commits to learning, creates positive change, and enables youth to learn.
• Strong verbal communication skills.
• 1-2 years’ experience working with youth.
• Ability to engage in physical activities with campers.
• Ability to work with diverse population.
Other Requirements
Must possess a valid Ohio driver's license; must pass a criminal background check and a pre-employment drug screen.
