We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Regulatory Reporting Platform team. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, software engineering, and regulatory compliance, and is accountable for building and operating reliable, auditable, and scalable reporting systems across multiple regulatory regimes.
The successful candidate will manage a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for canonical data models, reporting pipelines, and submission services, ensuring regulatory deadlines are met while maintaining high engineering and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Platform & Delivery Ownership:
Own the end-to-end delivery of regulatory reporting systems, from source ingestion to regulator submission and audit evidenceLead the design and evolution of a canonical data model supporting multiple regulatory regimesEnsure reporting platforms meet accuracy, completeness, timeliness, and auditability requirementsBalance regulatory delivery with platform scalability, resilience, and technical debt managementEngineering Leadership:
Lead and develop a team of data engineers and software engineersOwn hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development for the teamFoster a strong culture of ownership, quality, and operational excellenceData Engineering & Reporting:
Oversee the development of data pipelines and transformations using modern data toolingImplement strong data quality controls, lineage, and metadata to support audits and investigationsCollaborate with Compliance and Risk to translate regulatory requirements into engineered data outputsSoftware Engineering:
Own backend services supporting:regulatory submissions, report generation and validation ,evidence, attestations, and regulator responsesEnsure services are resilient, observable, and secureApply sound distributed systems principles, including idempotency, retries, and failure handlingCollaborate with platform and infrastructure teams on CI/CD, environments, and reliabilityGovernance, Risk & Audit:
Act as the engineering point of accountability for regulatory audits and reviewsClear audit trails and evidence packsChampion controls-first engineering and strong data governance practicesThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.
Required Qualifications:
2+ years in an Engineering Manager or similar leadership roleExperience in regulated industries such as fintech, payments, banking, or financial servicesProven ownership of production-grade, business-critical systemsCloud experience (we are on AWS)Strong experience with modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)Hands-on experience with dbt and workflow orchestration (Airflow / Astronomer or equivalent)Canonical and dimensional data modellingData quality, reconciliation, and controlsAuditability, lineage, and metadata managementStrong backend engineering background (e.g. Java, Python)Experience building API-driven services and data-intensive applicationsSolid understanding of distributed systems and event-driven architecturesFamiliarity with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and production operations Visa is an EEO Employer.
