The Role The Vice President, Indirect Procurement is responsible for effective and efficient management of the Indirect categories totaling $2.2B. This senior leadership role within the Global Supply Management structure will be responsible for value creation for all the Indirect sourcing categories such as MRO, Capex & Facilities, Pro Service & Marketing, IT, HR, T&E and Fleet. This role will lead a team to build and execute best-in-class strategic procurement strategy and process at SBD.

The VP, Indirect Procurement will manage a team of direct reports with responsibilities spanning sourcing, contracting, supplier relationship management and the Source to Pay process. This position will require influencing and close collaboration with the businesses to develop and execute global category strategies that deliver value to the organization and meet the budgetary goals. A key part of this role will be enabling the digital procurement transformation of Stanley Black & Decker. Reporting to the Chief Procurement Officer, this position will be based in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Primary Accountabilities

• Lead creation of procurement strategy for global spend for all the Indirect sourcing categories such as MRO, Capex & Facilities, Pro Service & Marketing, IT, HR, T&E and Fleet through a combination of productivity, working capital, synergies, reduced risk, improved supplier lead times, etc. • Execute the strategy by building a customer-focused, service-oriented team that delivers significant initial cost reductions, supplemented with year-over-year productivity improvements in TCO while maintaining or improving product quality and supplier service levels. • Drive a digital transformation of Indirect procurement by identifying and implementing best in class tools and processes for indirect procurement. Optimizing the Source to Pay and other relevant processes to drive compliance to sourcing strategy while driving automation. • Direct and sponsor company-wide sourcing activities by working closely with senior leadership and Portfolio Managers in pursuit of sustainable reductions in the total cost of goods and services procured, with simultaneous improvements in the quality, competitiveness and service levels of the supply base. • Maintains business relationships with strategic suppliers and serves as an escalation point to resolve supplier performance issues • Facilitate and leads cross-functional teams with key stakeholders to develop effective cost reduction strategies and implementation plans • Sponsor and champion the use of digital, automation, and advanced analytics to unlock new sources of value and insight within the team • Institutionalize best-practice processes and policies and knowledge sharing within his team • Coach, mentor and help develop capabilities of individuals within the team. Lead the skills and competency development of the team & ensuring right skills at the right time & right location. • Execute Continuous Improvement (CI) sourcing approach. - identify and execute performance improvement initiatives aimed at achieving year-on-year reductions in Company’s total sourcing spend encompassing a wide range of activities such as: • Vision of Tools & Processes with Strategic Roadmap for Continuous Improvement • Cross-functional sourcing teams targeting such areas as TCO reductions, process redesign improvements, part standardization, etc. • Supplier management and development, including a common scorecard that measures supplier performance across key service, price, quality and innovation dimensions • Adoption of electronic purchasing capabilities to minimize transaction and resource intense activities (e.g., account payable management, EDI, electronic cataloguing, auditing of contract pricing)

• Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws. Maintain strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations as well as any internal policies (e.g., code of ethics) or procedures to ensure that the behavior exhibited by the organization is honest, ethical and professional Candidate Profile

• Successful, multi-year track record in a procurement function with reputed multinational organizations • 15+ years leadership experience, a balance of Direct & Indirect procurement experience • A Bachelor’s degree is required, MBA preferred; or other graduate degree • Multi-dimensional global experience – procurement, quality, digitization, innovation • Strong sourcing, supply management and negotiation skills • Expertise in Total Cost of Ownership & Lean Manufacturing preferred • Outstanding people leadership and management skills with an ability to lead diverse teams globally • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills • Proven experience in managing, leading and transforming organizations and teams • Demonstrated success with digital supply chain enablement • Situationally effective leadership with an ability to lead and navigate complex matrix structure • Strong organization building skills, including the ability to attract and develop new and diverse talent and to develop linkages with the company’s different divisions and functions • High energy and the enthusiasm to establish a new approach to sourcing and to build and lead a new organization • Able to work in a dual reporting matrix environment and aggressively take the lead on implementation of savings opportunities that affect numerous lines of business • Able to exemplify our SBD values – Courage & Innovation, Agility & Performance, Inclusivity & Collaboration and Integrity & Accountability

The Salary range for this position is $189,600.00 - $338,000.00
 • This is the lowest to highest annual full-time salary range we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. The salary offered within the range may vary depending on multiple factors including job level, geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience and in compliance with local wage requirements.
