About this role
The EJ Labs Futures Studio Motion & Storytelling Lead shapes how executive leaders interpret, reason about, and make decisions on complex, ambiguous future-state concepts. This role translates strategic, technical, and experiential complexity into shared mental models that enable decision-making under uncertainty. By defining how future-state narratives are constructed and communicated, this role ensures leaders can compare options, understand implications, and act with confidence. Outputs are not communication artifacts for after decisions are made; they are decision instruments designed to influence how choices are evaluated before commitment. Work produced in this role standardizes how futures are understood across leadership forums and strategic conversations. This role operates upstream of roadmap commitment, directly shaping how enterprise leaders evaluate high-impact, difficult-to-reverse decisions before formal prioritization, funding, or execution begins. What You'll Do Decision Narrative Construction Translate complex future-state concepts into structured narratives that enable leaders to reason about tradeoffs and implications. Define how strategic intent, system behavior, and value creation are communicated in executive contexts. Executive Mental Model Design Shape how leaders understand AI-enabled workflows, system interactions, and evolving operating models. Create consistent narrative patterns that allow comparison across multiple future-state options. System-Level Story Representation Represent multi-actor workflows, including Financial Advisors, clients, associates, AI systems, and enterprise controls. Ensure narratives surface dependencies, risks, and implications without relying on technical abstraction. Concept Visualization & Simulation Create visual and motion-based representations that make complex futures interpretable and comparable. Select appropriate mediums to support decision-making clarity rather than aesthetic output. Enterprise Reuse & Standardization Establish repeatable storytelling patterns, templates, and frameworks used across leadership and strategy forums. Ensure outputs scale across multiple initiatives and strategic conversations. Decision Context & Authority Defines the strategic framing, assumptions, and tradeoff structures that enterprise leaders use to make investment and prioritization decisions. Operates with high autonomy in ambiguous, precedent-limited environments where decisions carry significant cost, complexity, and risk. Influences decisions affecting multi-year roadmaps, operating models, and workforce evolution. Establishes the conditions under which opportunities are advanced, reframed, or stopped prior to formal governance processes. Exercises judgment in contexts where formal data, precedent, or governance inputs may not yet exist. This position is known internally as an AI Strategist - Futures Studio
