Unless specifically stated otherwise, this role is "On-Site" at the location detailed in the job post. Eaton’s ES AMER ARS division is currently seeking a Buyer. This role will take place at our brand new, growing facility in Greenwood, SC. The Buyer has the primary responsibility for releasing and on-time delivery of purchase orders for raw material and production support activities. Other responsibilities include management of supplier capacity, supplier performance, inventory management, inbound premium freight management, and PO health including over-dues, expedites, short cycles, and missing promise dates. This role is also responsible for providing forecasts to suppliers and management of MRP, assisting with material cost savings, DOH, and invoice on hold and reducing total cost of ownership on purchased materials. This position interfaces with planning, business unit resources, customer service, product engineering and production is critical to ensure a high level of support to satisfy the customer. As we transition from Hodges to our expanded Greenwood site, you’ll join a rapidly growing Busway operation positioned for long‑term success. We’re targeting ~$1B in annual sales by 2030 through increased capacity, stronger supply‑chain resiliency, and continued volume growth. What you’ll do: Supplier Interaction: Communicate delivery expectations, forecasts, design changes, lead time management, and material expedites or delays to ensure Supplier On-Time Delivery (SOTD) goals. Cost Management: Identify and drive cost reduction and avoidance opportunities. Delivery & Flexibility: Ensure strong supplier on-time delivery, short lead times, and flexibility to meet customer requirements. Order Management: Review purchase requisitions, place orders, issue change notices, and review exception messages to adhere to production schedules. Material Records: Maintain material master records, ensure accurate PIR records, source lists, and reconcile supplier invoices promptly. Planning: Review part consumption characteristics and maintain appropriate planning parameters. Inventory Management: Review and maintain Kanban replenishment, vendor managed programs, consignment, scheduling agreements, and blanket orders. Corrective Actions: Provide root cause corrective actions when needed. Demand Planning: Proactively plan for demand spikes and avoid material shortages. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with various teams to resolve complaints and clear production obstacles. Quoting: Quote parts with suppliers. Financial Goals: Meet DPO (Days Payable) and IOH (Invoices on Hold) goals. Inventory Reduction: Lead initiatives to reduce excess and obsolete inventories through improved processes. Cycle Counting: Coordinate with receiving and operations on cycle counting, adjustments, root cause analysis, and inventory accuracy.
