As part of our EY-Assurance FAAS Team, the Senior/Assistant Manager will be responsible for working closely with FAAS managers and Senior Managers on clients and engagements across Americas, EMEIA and APAC to provide end to end services pertaining to GAAP conversion, implementation, and related services. The opportunity We’re looking for incumbents who is responsible for the timeliness and quality of the work as per project requirements for our FAAS team and possess strong accounting and financial reporting knowledge. The role requires prior experience and knowledge of advisory services including accounting and regulatory support for GAAP conversion, implementation, and related services. Your key responsibilities <ul> <li>Manage quality of service delivery</li> <li>Ensure quality in delivering client service by directing daily progress of fieldwork, informing Supervisors of engagement status</li> <li>Follow through on client requests in a timely fashion, and manage expectations regarding the timing of deliverables and reports</li> <li>Apply independent and objective professional judgment in applying accounting standards to meet engagement expectations, including regulatory requirements</li> <li>Demonstrate a good understanding of accounting concepts; stay informed of professional standards and firm policies (e.g., guidelines of the EY FAAS Policy Manual); and effectively apply this knowledge to moderately difficult and/or complex client situations</li> <li>Preparation of underlying materials as well as leading/participation in client workshops</li> <li>Co-ordinating activities between small teams on projects to deliver tasks, including providing guidance and feedback to junior team members</li> <li>Undertaking practice development activities including contributing to thought leadership pieces, running industry events, delivering training, or managing team communications</li> <li>Developing strong internal and external networks for long term relationships, managing EY accounts and to bring all EY to clients</li> <li>Driving innovation by creating an environment that encourages innovation and being a leader in this area by implementing new and improved ways of working, delivery models and / or technological advancements</li> <li>Establishing and managing effective working relationships with peer-level clients as part of project delivery roles</li> </ul> Skills and attributes for success <ul> <li>Good understanding of IFRS/US/UK GAAP and International auditing standards</li> <li>Technical accounting advisory on complex topics (e.g. business combinations, consolidation, shared based payments, financial instruments including debt/equity etc.)</li> <li>Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills</li> <li>Ability and comfort level in researching client inquires and emerging issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies</li> <li>Flexibility and willingness to travel on short notice, as necessary</li> <li>Confident and comfortable with uncertainty and ambiguity in a project environment</li> <li>Take personal responsibility for the quality of delivery</li> <li>Instil a positive team mentality, even when under pressure, by treating their colleagues well and creating an inclusive culture</li> <li>Extremely comfortable and confident around senior stakeholders, internally and externally</li> <li>Extremely comfortable with Excel and PowerPoint. Much of our work involves detailed analysis so it is critical you can work with these tools</li> <li>Working experience in relation to the following services/solutions:</li> <li>Accounting and regulatory support for accounting change and special matters</li> <li>White paper writing skills</li> <li>Provide comprehensive technical accounting guidance to clients, addressing complex issues and transactions. (Business Combination, consolidation, stock based compensation, revenue, leases accounting, etc)</li> <li>Conduct research and analysis on accounting issues, documenting findings and proposing solutions.</li> <li>Preparation of financial statements including accounting policies and governance</li> <li>Accounting processes</li> <li>Audit support and governance</li> </ul> Your key responsibilities Responsible for decision-making, optimizing processes, resource management, and overseeing team management as needed for task execution. Accountable for allocating personnel, supervising team members, assigning tasks, ensuring that the team has the necessary tools and support to succeed in their roles and optimizing and evaluating their performance to meet organizational goals.
