Ensure that all relevant areas and functions have knowledge of relevant rules and regulations. Review projects to facilitate regulatory compliance.</li> <li>Perform necessary analysis/evaluations and make recommendations to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices in relevant areas. Conduct basic and routine inspections. Facilitate safety awareness programs. Receive and investigate complaints and/or concerns.</li> <li>Facilitate waste management operation (radioactive, chemical, and/or biohazardous) when appropriate. Facilitate proper workflow across unit. Assist in the generation and monitoring of inventories (radioactive, chemical, and/ or biohazardous).</li> <li>Coordinate laboratory setup and related activities with college Facilities teams or other necessary personnel.</li> <li>Support the department in the creation of policies, procedures, and resources. Communicate with administrators, faculty, staff, and students regarding safety bulletins, policies, and inquiries.</li> <li>Assist in the resolution of audit findings and issues where appropriate. Assist with development and review of laboratory procedures.</li> <li>May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). </li> <li>Perform related duties based on departmental need.
