In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing communications and events strategies that support our mission and goals.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><strong><span>Duties and responsibilities:</span></strong></p> <ul> <li>Developing and implementing communication plans and strategies; </li> <li>Organising and coordinating events from concept to execution, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to ensure successful events; </li> <li>Managing, coordinating and providing logistical support for events on-site to ensure they run smoothly; </li> <li>Managing our social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram) and website; </li> <li>Writing and editing press releases, newsletters and other communication materials; </li> <li>Overseeing the graphic design of content and creating visuals; </li> <li>Understanding our target audience and communicating appropriately to promote our activities and events; </li> <li>Work closely with colleagues to understand their needs and vision and translate these into memorable events; </li> <li>Managing event budgets, timelines and logistics to ensure the smooth running of the event; </li> <li>Collaborate with suppliers and other stakeholders to negotiate contracts and secure the necessary resources; </li> <li>Staying up to date with other events and best practices to continuously improve our event offering; </li> <li>Strengthening, supporting and helping our HOST community to grow; </li> <li>Contributing to the expansion of our network.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>For this function, our VUB Main Campus in Brussels will serve as your home base.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>3 - Profile</b></H2> </div><div><p><strong>Who are you?</strong></p> <ul> <li><span>You have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication, Marketing or a related field, or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role</span><span> </span></li> <li>You communicate fluently, persuasively and purposefully </li> <li>You are a natural planner and multi-tasker </li> <li>You work in an organised manner </li> <li>You have an eye for detail and are a problem-solver </li> <li>You are hands-on and know how to get things done </li> <li>You have a proactive and creative attitude </li> <li>You can work both independently and as part of a team </li> <li>You have a passion for sustainability </li> <li>You know how to strengthen and grow a network </li> <li>You have an excellent command of English and Dutch; French is an advantage </li> <li>As a (non-)EEA national, you meet the conditions for obtaining a valid permit for VUB and comply with the VUB residence requirements.
