<p>The Sizewell C Jobs Service supports local people into exciting, long-term careers across our Project.#SZCJobs</p><p> </p> <p> </p> <p style="text-align:center"><strong>Deputy Harbour Master</strong><br><strong>Sizewell C</strong><br><strong> </strong></p> <p>Location: travel between (Orwell Logistics Park) Ipswich and Leiston, Suffolk<br>Working pattern: 4 to 5 days per week on site<br>Salary: £75,000 per annum<br>Benefits:</p> <p>5% CIP bonus<br>28 days holiday plus bank holidays<br>Contributory pension (up to 7.5% employee / 15% employer)<br>Ongoing professional development<br>Additional lifestyle benefits</p> <p><br>Closing date: Tuesday 19th May 2026<br> </p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p><br>We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Deputy Harbour Master to support the safe, efficient and compliant operation of the Statutory Harbour Authority at Sizewell C.<br> </p> <p>You will work closely with the Harbour Master to deliver the Marine Safety Management System (MSMS), oversee day‑to‑day marine operations, manage navigational safety and ensure compliance with the Port Marine Safety Code and relevant legislation.This is a hands‑on, on‑site role within a fast‑paced and high‑profile infrastructure project.</p> <p> <br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br> </p> <p>• Support delivery and continuous improvement of the Marine Safety Management System<br>• Ensure compliance with PMSC, maritime legislation and harbour regulations<br>• Coordinate daily marine and harbour operations, vessel movements and contractor activities<br>• Support Marine Works Applications, risk assessments and emergency response planning<br>• Act as part of the emergency response team for marine incidents and pollution events<br>• Build strong relationships with regulators, contractors and stakeholders<br>• Deputise for the Harbour Master when required<br> </p> <p><strong>About You</strong><br><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Essential</strong><br> </p> <p>• Experience as a Harbour Master or Deputy Harbour Master<br>• Strong knowledge of UK maritime legislation and PMSC<br>• Background in marine operations, port or harbour management<br>• Excellent communication and decision‑making skills<br>• Diploma for Harbour Masters (or equivalent)<br> </p> <p><strong>Desirable</strong></p> <p><br>• UK Harbour Master Certificate (or willingness to work towards)<br>• Oil Spill Response 4P<br>• IOSH Managing Safely or similar<br> </p> <p>If you enjoy a structured, on-site role, thrive in a fast-paced environment, and want to make an impact on a major local project, we’d love to hear from you.</p> <p><br>Apply now to join Sizewell C.</p><p> </p> <p>For this role you must have evidence of right to work in the UK.
