Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety
• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all projects.
• Ensure compliance with company safety policies and OSHA requirements.
• Conduct daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and site inspections.
• Identify and correct unsafe conditions and behaviors.
Field Operations
• Plan, direct, and supervise all drywall and framing activities.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
• Develop and maintain short-term and long-term work plans.
• Monitor production rates and adjust resources as needed to meet project schedules.
• Coordinate work with BLHI team, owners, and other trades.
• Lead foremen and field crews to maximize productivity and quality.
Scheduling & Planning
• Review project schedules and identify opportunities and risks.
• Participate in pull planning and look-ahead scheduling meetings.
• Ensure manpower levels align with project demands.
• Coordinate material deliveries and staging activities.
Quality Control
• Ensure all work complies with project specifications and drawings.
• Perform regular quality inspections.
• Identify and resolve field issues before they impact production.
Leadership & Team Development
• Supervise and mentor foremen and craft personnel.
• Assist with workforce planning and staffing needs.
• Evaluate employee performance and provide coaching and development.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
Financial Performance
• Monitor labor productivity and project performance.
• Assist with budget tracking and cost control efforts.
• Identify and communicate potential change order opportunities.
• Minimize rework and inefficiencies.
Qualifications
• 7+ years of commercial drywall and metal framing experience.
• 3+ years of experience as a Superintendent, Lead Foreman, or equivalent leadership role.
• Strong understanding of:
• Metal stud framing
• Drywall installation and finishing
• Acoustical ceilings
• Specialty wall systems
• Layout and blueprint reading
• Ability to manage multiple crews and project priorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Proficient with construction drawings, schedules, and project documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience on large commercial, healthcare, institutional, hospitality, industrial, or federal projects.
• OSHA 30 Certification.
• Experience in a self-perform construction environment.
• Knowledge of Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, or similar construction software.
