Project Delivery and Execution

• Lead regional WMS implementation and migration projects from initiation to go-live, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, timeline, cost, and quality standards.

• Translate portfolio priorities and project objectives into structured execution plans, milestones, and delivery commitments.

• Proactively manage project risks, dependencies, issues, and escalations, ensuring timely intervention and sound decision-making.

• Safeguard delivery quality across projects by maintaining visibility on progress, bottlenecks, deviations, and corrective actions.

• Ensure project execution remains pragmatic and outcome-oriented, balancing standardization, customer needs, and operational feasibility.

People Leadership and Team Management

• Lead and manage a team of functional and technical consultants and/or project-assigned specialists within the RIC structure.

• Plan, allocate, and rebalance resources across projects in line with priorities, capacity, required competencies, and delivery commitments.

• Drive performance, accountability, and behaviours aligned with a high-performing project delivery culture.

• Provide coaching, regular feedback, performance evaluation input, and development guidance to team members.

• Support capability development and succession readiness by identifying gaps in skills, experience, and role maturity across the team.

Portfolio, Demand, and Capacity Management

• Maintain an up-to-date regional project pipeline, ensuring clear visibility on demand, status, capacity, and execution outlook.

• Structure and translate incoming business demand from countries, business development, and regional stakeholders into realistic planning scenarios.

• Align priorities, resource needs, sequencing, and delivery trade-offs with the Head of RIC NW.

• Create transparency on project workload, consultant utilization, and execution constraints to support informed prioritization and governance decisions.

• Contribute to regional planning cycles and master planning processes by ensuring project demand and delivery capacity are continuously aligned.

Collaboration with the WMS Architect

• Work in close alignment with the WMS Architect to ensure solution designs are translated into executable, realistic, and controlled project delivery plans.

• Safeguard the operational handover from architecture and design into implementation by ensuring the project team understands scope, dependencies, and design intent.

• Identify delivery gaps, ambiguities, or execution risks arising from solution design and address them pragmatically together with the WMS Architect.

• Step in where needed to maintain momentum, remove delivery obstacles, and protect project outcomes without undermining design governance.

• Ensure design, delivery, and project governance remain connected throughout the project lifecycle.

Stakeholder and Partner Management

• Act as the key regional IT counterpart for project execution towards country IT teams, business stakeholders, Business Development, Engineering, Group IT, and the BY Competence Center.

• Build effective working relationships across countries and functions to ensure decisions are timely, expectations are aligned, and projects are executable.

• Ensure clear governance and escalation paths for project topics requiring cross-functional decision-making or management attention.

• Facilitate operational alignment between business expectations, solution direction, and delivery capability.

• Represent the RIC project delivery perspective in regional and cross-functional discussions, ensuring transparency around capacity, risk, and execution readiness.

Migration and Transformation Delivery

• Lead the execution of migrations from legacy or sunset systems towards target WMS platforms and related strategic applications.

• Ensure migration projects are structured, repeatable, and adequately controlled across design, preparation, testing, cut-over, and stabilization phases.

• Safeguard delivery readiness across systems, environments, data, interfaces, and team capabilities.

• Drive predictability in transformation programmes by enforcing disciplined preparation, issue resolution, and execution follow-up.

• Ensure that transitions contribute to a scalable future application landscape and do not create unnecessary local complexity or technical debt.

Governance, Standards, and Ways of Working

• Ensure all projects follow agreed Rhenus governance principles, project methodologies, templates, and tooling standards (e.g. JIRA).

• Promote disciplined project execution through structured planning, reporting, issue management, and decision documentation.

• Drive consistent use of project controls, standard deliverables, and quality checkpoints across the regional portfolio.

• Escalate major delivery risks, deviations, or structural constraints to the Head of RIC NW in a timely and fact-based manner.

• Embed a project-driven and performance-oriented way of working across the delivery organisation.

Continuous Improvement and Value Orientation

• Continuously improve delivery predictability, efficiency, and transparency across project services in the RIC.

• Identify improvement opportunities in staffing, planning, governance, reporting, and delivery methods, and translate them into practical actions.

• Contribute to the professionalization of the regional project services function by standardizing good practices and reducing ad hoc execution.

• Work closely with project teams, architects, and stakeholders to improve the effectiveness and business value of implementation and migration activities.

• Support the Head of RIC in monitoring key delivery indicators and identifying structural opportunities to increase value from project activities.

Support to Business Development and Pre-Project Activities

• Support Business Development and relevant stakeholders in shaping feasible customer solutions and implementation approaches.

• Provide delivery input on timelines, resource needs, implementation risks, and execution feasibility during pre-sales or project preparation phases.

• Ensure proposed project approaches remain realistic, scalable, and aligned with available capabilities and standards.

• Contribute to reliable delivery assumptions that strengthen customer proposals and reduce implementation uncertainty.

Key Deliverables

• Successful delivery of regional WMS implementation and migration projects within agreed scope, quality, timeline, and cost parameters.

• Transparent and up-to-date regional project pipeline, including clear status, capacity view, and delivery outlook.

• Well-managed, capable, and performance-oriented project services team with clear priorities and development direction.

• Reliable execution of migration and transformation activities from legacy to target platforms.

• Consistent application of project standards, methods, governance principles, and reporting disciplines across the RIC.

• Improved predictability, efficiency, and maturity of regional project delivery and resource planning.

• Strong collaboration model between project execution, architecture, business stakeholders, and regional governance.

What You Bring:

Required Skills and Experience

• University degree or equivalent experience in information technology, logistics, industrial engineering, or a related field.

• 5–10 years of experience in IT project delivery, preferably in WMS, logistics, warehouse automation, or complex application environments.

• Proven experience in leading project teams and managing people, including allocation, coaching, and performance steering.

• Strong track record in implementation, migration, transformation, or multi-site project environments.

• Good understanding of the interaction between business processes, IT applications, integrations, and operational execution.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across business, IT, and management levels.

• Experience operating within matrix organisations and multi-country delivery structures.

• Pragmatic, structured, and able to maintain control under pressure while safeguarding outcomes.

• Fluent in English; intercultural awareness and ability to work across countries and functions.

Attitude & Mindset

• Acts as a delivery-focused leader who drives execution through structure, ownership, and clear expectations.

• Builds strong teams and promotes accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• Balances pragmatism with discipline, ensuring that projects move forward without losing control or quality.

• Communicates transparently and decisively, escalating where needed and addressing issues early.

• Focuses on outcomes, improvement, and sustainable value creation rather than short-term fixes.

• Demonstrates resilience and adaptability in a dynamic regional and cross-functional environment.
