Job Description & Summary: Environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria are a set of standards for a company’s behavior used by socially conscious investors to screen potential investments. Environmental criteria consider how a company safeguards the environment, including corporate policies addressing climate change, for example. Social criteria examine how it manages relationships with employees, suppliers, customers, and the communities where it operates. Governance deals with a company’s leadership, executive pay, audits, internal controls, and shareholder rights.
Responsibilities:
• Good knowledge of Understanding of various ESG frameworks and standards, ESG ratings and ESG
• disclosure norms. (GRI, , TCFD, SASB, SDGs, DJSI, CDP, BRSR, ISAE 3000, ISAE 3410, ISO,
• PAS 2060 etc.)
• Should have carried out assurances and have a good understanding of ISAE 3000 & 3410
• Good understanding of Net Zero, Decarbonization, Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), Carbon
• neutrality, Water neutrality concepts and some experience on the same
• Knowledge and understanding on Double Materiality Assessment, IRO Identification and GAP
• assessment under Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directives (CSRD).
• Expertise to provide technical knowledge in preparing proposals and reports.
• Experience in performing GHG Inventorisation
• Knowledge of latest ESG concepts to be able to hold client discussions.
• Project Management skills to ensure the timely delivery of engagement goals
• Work with a team and ensure quality control, participate in workshops, contribute in providing key
• insights and ideas for client deliverables and business development.
• Identifying business opportunities and potential to contribute towards practice development.
Mandatory skill sets:
• A minimum of 10 year of relevant experience in area of sustainability, environmental management and climate change.
• Understanding of globally accepted sustainability guidelines, and assurance standards (as mentioned above)
• Master graduates with Energy, Environmental Science, Sustainability or relevant degree and qualifications with one year of work experience in the similar field.
• Excellent administration and M.S office skills (word, excel & power point)
• Good analytical skills and ability to work with large amounts of data- facts, figures, and number crunching
• Good verbal and written proficiency in English
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred skill sets:
• Knowledge and understanding of various global rating agencies/indices and experience of preparing responses for such agencies/indices
• Expertise to provide technical inputs in preparing proposals and reports and make presentations to clients independently
• Experience on having worked on formulation of ESG strategy including defining vision, identification of material ESG KPIs and targets is desirable
