The Vice President, Group Risk & Prevention (GCFS), plays a pivotal leadership role in driving regional oversight and fostering group-wide alignment across multiple jurisdictions including Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong/Macau, and Indonesia. This role is instrumental in elevating ethics and culture, market conduct, and business governance within GCFS, ensuring that risk management is deeply embedded in daily operations.

The incumbent will spearhead initiatives that cultivate a culture of accountability and ownership in risk management within first line business units. You will lead efforts to centralise risk oversight, enhance control frameworks, and drive continuous improvements across GCFS divisions to meet the highest standards of risk governance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and regional adaptation of GCFS risk management initiatives and methodologies to mitigate financial crime, operational, and digital risks, ensuring standardisation and consistency across all GCFS offices.

• Champion the uplift of risk culture and conduct standards, embedding strong ethics and governance principles into the organisation.

• Maintain and enhance effective risk management frameworks that comply with Group policies, local regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

• Monitor and analyse key risk indicators, incidents, and emerging risk trends; prepare comprehensive reports on significant risk events with actionable recommendations to senior management.

• Drive the design and delivery of risk management training and awareness programs, fostering a culture of risk ownership and proactive risk mitigation among employees.

• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including Group Legal and Compliance (GLC), Group Operational Risk Management (GORM), and Group Audit (GA) to ensure integrated and aligned risk management practices across the OCBC Group.

• Support the embedment of the Risk & Prevention target operating model, adapting best practices to local contexts while maintaining robust governance and operating rhythms.

• Utilize data analytics and surveillance tools to strengthen risk detection capabilities and enhance early warning systems.

• Provide leadership and mentorship to regional risk teams, promoting professional development and high performance.

Educational and Work Experiences: Degree holders aspiring to expand experience in managing regional/group offices.

Technical skills:

• Poses depth and breadth of experience in the banking industry with 5 years minimum is essential to equip the jobholder for engagement with regional offices and ability to drive strategic issues.

Personal Traits:

• Ability to build strong relationships with effective communicating skills and positive growth mindset.

• Proactive and delivery focused to ensure tasks are completed on time and to the required levels of quality and standards.
