REQ13136 Audit Assistant, Compliance and Control (Open)
POSITION SUMMARY: The Audit Assistant, Compliance and Control participates in daily audits of gaming and non-gaming activity, the preparation of management and regulatory reports, and preparation of journal entries
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the department of Compliance and Control in the daily collection of gaming and non-gaming audit documents and reports • Performs audits of gaming/non-gaming activity, in accordance with gaming/non-gaming audit standard operating procedures for one or more of the following areas as assigned by the supervisor: - Intercompany casino transactions and other areas as required • Prepares the daily journal entries to record revenues and expenses along with any balance sheet entries • Prepares monthly balance sheet reconciliation of general ledger to corresponding source systems • Assists in the preparation of daily reports for submission to government regulators, external parties, internal parties, and senior management team • Adheres to, and supports the Company’s Vision & Values • Displays a high commitment to excellence and continual improvement • Holds the motivation to achieve business objectives and common goals • Works as a team member • Achieves agreed objectives and accepts accountability for results • All other duties as assigned by Management
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education
• Appropriate tertiary qualifications, majoring in Finance/Accounting, administration/hospitality, statistics, business administration or mathematics preferred
Experience
• Up to two years of experience in a corporate environment will be considered as an advantage • Audit experience in hotels preferred • Experience with a computerized system
Skills / Competencies
• Advanced knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office • Knowledge of Hotel System Opera and Infrasys Point of Sale is an advantage • Anticipates and assesses issues, risks, or opportunities facing the Company and applies effective, creative solutions or new approaches and practices • Clearly understands the strategic Vision of the Company and how it impacts on the Business Unit/function • Good communication skills • Organizational skills • Team working skills • IT literate • Ability to work five (5) days per week on a rotating schedule
