Job Overview: Join the marketing technology team at WebEngage in our Mumbai office as a WordPress Developer with a strong focus on UI/UX principles. This role is a perfect blend of technical expertise and creative problem-solving. You will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining our core marketing websites, landing pages, and digital assets, ensuring they are visually compelling, user-friendly, high-performing, and aligned with our brand and growth objectives. Key Responsibilities: Hands-on Development: Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-traffic WordPress websites, custom themes, and plugins from scratch without relying solely on off-the-shelf templates. UI/UX Implementation: Translate wireframes, mockups, and UI/UX design specifications (from tools like Figma/Sketch) into pixel-perfect, fully functional WordPress websites and interfaces. Performance Optimization: Ensure optimal website speed, scalability, accessibility (WCAG standards), and SEO compliance across all devices and browsers. Technical Maintenance: Manage website security, perform updates, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues, and ensure seamless integration with various third-party marketing and analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, CRM, A/B testing platforms). Collaboration: Work closely with the Design, Content, and Marketing teams to create engaging, conversion-focused digital experiences, ensuring technical feasibility and adherence to design principles. Code Quality: Write clean, well-documented, efficient PHP, HTML, CSS (SASS/LESS), and JavaScript/jQuery code, and utilize version control systems like Git. Required Skills and Qualifications: Experience: 3+ years of professional experience as a WordPress Developer, with a demonstrated portfolio of custom-built websites. Core Technical Skills: Expert proficiency in WordPress , including custom theme and plugin development. Strong knowledge of PHP, MySQL, HTML5, CSS3/Sass , and JavaScript/jQuery . Experience with advanced WordPress features like Custom Post Types and ACF (Advanced Custom Fields) . UI/UX Acumen: Solid understanding of UI/UX principles , user-centered design, and conversion rate optimization (CRO). Proven ability to implement responsive and mobile-first design layouts. A keen eye for aesthetics and design details. Workflow: Familiarity with cross-browser compatibility issues, web performance best practices, and version control (Git). Soft Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
