eero is looking for a highly proficient Software Development Manager to further contribute and enhance the connectivity efficiency and experience of our devices and clients. You will build and manage a team that to improves our mesh and client connectivity, designs new features, and ensures that the end-users have a great connectivity experience. You'll work closely with testing teams, to help discover and debug issues. As part of eero’s mission to reinvent WiFi, you’ll be making a difference in the fabric of the modern home. Key job responsibilities - Hire, lead, and coach a team of high performing engineers tasked with improving eero WiFi connectivity. - Collaborate closely with the other Device software teams located at eero headquarters in San Francisco, California. - Empower the team to regularly deliver high impact customer features on tight timelines. - Build detailed schedules and technical requirements from high level product descriptions. - Communicate status in an understandable way to a wide range of audiences. - Estimate delivery dates with confidence intervals based on the measured team velocity, remaining work, and projected new work. - Identify, champion, and deliver the highest impact engineering investments that your team needs in order to continue to deliver in the long term. - Implement process improvements for both your own and surrounding teams. - Provide hands on technical leadership to the team, including your own code contributions and meticulous code reviews in Go, C, and Python. - Analyze performance and stability data from our testing and production populations to catch regressions and validate new features. - Manage headcount projections, recruiting, and continuous performance evaluations. - Monitor, drive and facilitate individual growth of your teams individual contributors. A day in the life The team members have the opportunity to learn about the WiFi stack and contribute to various components. Guide the team members for best customer WiFi experience. Direct hands on experience with the hardware as your team is developing software for our routers. We also work with many internal and external teams. The technical leader has a chance to work in the core technologies of eero such as roaming, routing, connectivity performance daily. About the team WiFi team provides the most secure, fast, reliable and complete WiFi router system to our customers. We innovate on behalf of our customers. The team members are working closely to provide best customer experience. We own design to development to quality assurance with dedicated labs.
