Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) org is looking for Software Development Engineer to join the Automated Inventory Management (AIM- RoW) Team. The RoW AIM Tech team extends SCOT's supply chain systems to RoW stores, customizing for regional structural differences. The team owns Data/Service Foundations where upstream gaps exist, country-specific customizations (taxation, currency dynamics, multi-format fulfillment including QC/SSD), critical priority delivery across LTPF, OSS, Inbound Systems, OIH, Selection, and Fulfilment Operations, and end-to-end KTLO for all launched capabilities. As a part of the program you will have the opportunity to work with complex algorithms, Distributed Computing Technology, Big-Data computing space to build highly scalable services that manage inventory plans for millions of items on Amazon.com. The objective of this program is to build and extend required SCOT systems to emerging markets. We are looking for a Software Developer with a strong sense of ownership and a passion for delivering creative solutions for complex problems on an unprecedented scale. Key job responsibilities Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, debug, deploy, maintain, document and deliver large-scale, highly distributed, real-time and management systems that are core to effectively managing the supply chain business. Use Java, Scala, object-oriented (OO) design patterns, NoSQL databases, and data modeling techniques. Design PB scale big-data processing solutions leveraging latest AWS solutions. Gather and analyze business and functional requirements, and translate business requirements into technical design specifications. Serve as a key technical resource in the full development cycle. Produce comprehensive, usable software documentation. Recommend changes in development, maintenance and system standards. Work with Senior and Principal Engineers, Researchers, and Data Engineers across multiple teams to design software solutions for optimizing supply chain management Work in an agile development environment, where you are always working on the most important stuff. About the team We are the AIM-RoW team under Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT). SCOT is the name of a complex group of systems designed to make the best decisions when it comes to forecasting, buying, placing, and shipping inventory. Functionally these teams work together to drive in-stock, drive placement, drive inventory removal and manage the customer experience. Basic qualifications 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent Preferred qualifications 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience About the team The RoW AIM Tech team extends SCOT's supply chain systems to RoW stores, customizing for regional structural differences.
