About this role
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements . Select type of insulation required. Instruct apprentices. Measure and cut insulating materials to required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools. Apply and secure insulation using spraying, blowing, pasting, strapping, taping and other application and installation methods. Fit insulation around obstructions and between joists and studs. Remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead and mould and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years. Support for newcomers and refugees: Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition. Provides diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees . Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth. Support for Indigenous people: Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers . Provides cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers .
