Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Custom machine shop. Tasks: Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts. Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Operate and set up machines to perform repetitive machining operations. Clean and maintain work space. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and machinery. Enter codes specifying speed, feed and cut of the toolpath for computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools. Prepare etching solution and immerse metal parts or workpiece into the etching solution to remove unwanted portions. Measuring tools: Micrometers. Callipers. Calibre. Verniers. Equipment and machinery experience: Use computer numerical control (CNC) machines. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Weight handling: Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Personal suitability: Accurate. Excellent oral communication.
