Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Start up, shut down, adjust and monitor robotic welding production line. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Weld or braze components. Perform scheduled maintenance and minor repairs on equipment. Operate machines and equipment. Fit and weld parts together. Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other work units. Ensure that safety standards and departmental policies are met. Assemble and fit metal and prefabricated parts to close tolerances according to blueprints. Installing machinery and equipment. Supervise and co-ordinate activities of workers. Requisition materials and supplies. Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments. Ensure safety procedures are followed.
