About this role
Education: Degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine or optometry. Work setting: Willing to relocate. Private practice. Tasks: Clean teeth. Diagnose dental diseases . Examine patients' teeth, gums and surrounding tissue. Hire and train staff. Instruct patients on oral hygiene . Plan dental health treatment. Administer budget. Restore, extract and replace diseased and decayed teeth. Perform oral surgery, periodontal surgery and other treatments. Supervise staff. Design bridgework, fit dentures and provide appliances. Write fabrication instructions or prescriptions for use by denturists and dental technicians. Act as consultants to other dentists. Supervision: 3-4 people. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities. National Dental Examining Board of Canada Certification. Specialization or experience: Green economy sector. Security and safety: Criminal record check. Child Abuse Registry check. Adult Abuse Registry check. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Combination of sitting, standing, walking. Fast-paced environment. Walking.
