Education: College/CEGEP. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Tasks: Design dental devices. Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases. Maintain and order supplies. Pack plastic material in moulds to form full or partial dentures. Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys. Polish and buff dentures. Technical expertise (dental): Waxing-up. Polishing. Area of specialization: Ceramic or porcelain application. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Work under pressure. Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Attention to detail.
