Education: Master's degree. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Hospital or home for the aged. Tasks: Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary health team. Coordinate patient care. Evaluate patient care and progress. Implement an interdisciplinary plan of care. Interpret medical test results . Monitor patients and advise physician of any changes in patients' condition. Order medical diagnostic or clinical tests. Plan patient care. Provide end-of-life counselling and bereavement support to patients and their families. Examine patients and take their medical histories and consult with physicians and other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health. Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures. Conduct patient interviews, physical assessments and take medical histories. Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases. Provide health maintenance education. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Licensure as a Nurse Practitioner by the province/territory of work. Security and safety: Criminal record check.
