About this role
Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: Outdoors. Dangerous. Dusty. Hot. Noisy. Odours. Dairy. Livestock. Dirty. Tasks: Diagnose livestock health issues. Handling animals. Monitor the calving process. Monitoring animal health. Perform livestock feeding. Prepare a clean, dry area for cows that are calving. Supervise milking operations to ensure work is done correctly . Treat livestock health issues. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Formulate feeding program. Supervise and oversee breeding and other livestock-related programs. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Perform general farm duties. Equipment and machinery experience: Feeding and watering system. Milking system (automated). Tractor. Loader. Skidsteer. Area of specialization: Cattle breeding. Dairy cattle. Experience: Experience an asset. Support for youths: Offers on-the-job training tailored to youth. Offers mentorship, coaching and/or networking opportunities for youth. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
