About this role
Education: College/CEGEP. or equivalent experience. Tasks: Collect samples and perform other laboratory tests. Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery. Produce diagnostic radiographs. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery. Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of veterinarian. Administer treatments as prescribed by veterinarian. Identify livestock. Counsel clients on animal health care. May perform a variety of office management and clerical duties. Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry. Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals. Provide wound and bandage care. Experience: 1 to less than 7 months. Support for persons with disabilities: Provides physical accessibility accommodations (for example: ramps, elevators, etc.).
