About this role

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Tasks: Load and unload goods. Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials. Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment. Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle. Receive and relay information to central dispatch. Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption. Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo. Transport and handle dangerous goods. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : AZ class license. Air Brake (Z) Endorsement. Commercial Vehicle Operator's Registration (CVOR) Certificate. Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certificate. Documentation knowledge: Accident or incident reports. Bill of lading. Dangerous goods occurrence reports. Driver logbook. Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip). Maintenance and repair reports. Trans-border documentation. Trip reports. Type of trucking and equipment: Refrigerated. Tractor-trailer. Communication systems experience: Citizens band (CB) radio. Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment. Transportation/travel experience: International. Long-haul. Provincial/territorial. Security and safety: Valid passport. Bondable. Criminal record check. Driver's validity licence check. Driving record check (abstract). Drug test. Medical exam.
