Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Various locations. Tasks: Assign projects to subordinates and staff related to work safety, environmental safety and accident prevention.. Provide information/training to employers, employees and general public. Review HR directives to assure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations . Train staff. Establish and implement policies and procedures. Inspect spills of hazardous chemicals or products. Inspect workplaces for safety or health hazards. Investigate workplace accidents or illnesses. Oversee development of communication strategies. Develop and implement health and safety plans. Ensure health and safety regulations are followed. Oversee the preparation of reports. Advise senior management. Respond to employee questions and complaints. Evaluate work environments, programs and procedures to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury. Participate in safety audits and programs.
