Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. Work site environment: Hog and pig farming. Dusty. Noisy. Odours. All weather conditions. Dirty. Tasks: Monitoring animal health. Perform pig littering activities such as clipping needle teeth, docking tails, administering iron and other medication(s), identification of piglets, and castration. Treat livestock health issues. Feed and tend animals. Ensure farm safety and bio-security procedures are followed. Clean stables, barns, barnyards and pens. Maintain work records and logs. Perform general farm duties. Set and monitor water lines, air flow and temperature in barns, pens and chicken coops. Area of specialization: Swine. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Handling heavy loads. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Excellent oral communication. Team player. Flexibility. Reliability.
