Tasks: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment. Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines. Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Operate previously set-up brazing or soldering machines to bond metal or to fill holes, indentations and seams of metal. Maintain and perform minor repairs on welding, brazing and soldering equipment. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Soldering machine. Spot welding machine. Area of specialization: Custom fabrication. Machinery or equipment repair. Transportation/travel information: Vehicle supplied by employer. Willing to travel regularly. Willing to travel for extended periods. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year.
