Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Veterinary clinic. Tasks: Clip animal coat. Document animal behaviour. Monitor animal behaviour. Prepare food and feed animals. Clean and disinfect cages, pens, aquariums, kennels, runs, stall and enclosures. Keep records of animals treated. Assist with inoculation and treatment of animals. Supervise helpers. Clean animal ears. Maintain and order supplies. Clip animal nails. Schedule and confirm appointments. Project management. Organize and schedule office work. Office management. Maintain adequate stock levels. Co-ordinate project. Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery. Greet customers. Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals. Manage the storage, packaging and distribution of medicinal products .
