Education: No degree, certificate or diploma. Work site environment: In/on water. Wet/damp. Tasks: Determine areas for fishing and plot courses. Estimate costs of operations in terms of labour, equipment and maintenance. Steer vessels and operate navigational instruments and electronic fishing aids. Operate fishing vessels and fishing gears. Supervise crew members. Transport fish to processing plants or fish buyers. Maintain engine, fishing gear and other on-board equipment. Record fishing progress, crew activities, weather and sea conditions on ship's log. Maintain dock area and marina facilities. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Marine Emergency Duties Certificate. Commercial Fishing Licence. Field work location experience: Offshore or at sea. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Employment terms options: Early morning. Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
