About this role
Island EHS is a Vancouver Island-based occupational hygiene consulting company. We have an immediate need for a full-time entry level occupational hygiene technician to work in our Kamloops office. *This is a permanent full-time position.* *Experience an asset but not necessary (training will be provided)*. The candidate must have a valid Driver?s Licence and a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Responsibilities for this position include:
· Carrying out sampling services for clients and occupational hygiene work
· Air sampling
· Asbestos air sample analysis
· Hazardous materials surveys
· Maintaining appropriate records for all aspects of the business
· Ability to complete work in a timely fashion
Although some experience in these areas is helpful, we will provide the following training:
· Air sample collection
· DOP Testing
· Asbestos air sample analysis by PCM
· Hazardous materials surveys
· Inspections and associated reports
The successful candidate will require the following skills:
· Excellent time management
· Fluency with Microsoft Office suite
· Good client relations
· Attention to detail
· Organizational skills
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team
· Technical writing skills
