About this role
Prepare and install a variety of flooring systems, including carpet, hardwood, laminate, vinyl, and other floor coverings. Measure, cut, and install underlayments and underpadding according to project specifications.Measure, cut, seam, and install carpeting using hand tools, machine stitchers, seaming irons, bonding tapes, and other installation materials.Stretch and secure carpeting using knee kickers, power stretchers, staple guns, and other specialized equipment.Measure, cut, and install resilient flooring materials using adhesives, rollers, and appropriate hand and power tools.Measure, cut and install flooring transitions.Install hardwood flooring, including strip, block, and plank flooring, using adhesives, nails, staples, and other fastening methods.Inspect completed flooring installations to ensure quality standards are met and perform repairs to damaged flooring as required.Remove and replace worn or damaged flooring materials.Maintain a safe and organized work environment and follow all workplace health and safety procedures.Estimate material quantities, labour requirements, and project costs when required.
