Job Description Job DescriptionAs a member of Haskins' accounting team, you will be providing support in a wide range of finance, accounting, and human resources functions. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player who is detail oriented and can meet the demands of a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude. This position provides room to grow and expand on job responsibilities. Responsibilities may include:
• Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts payable. Including maintaining vendor accounts, processing of supplier invoices and payments. • Responsible for the day-to-day management of accounts receivable. Including maintaining customer accounts, cash receipts, collections, and some invoicing. • Collaborate with other departments as needed to resolve any accounts payable or receivable issues. • Perform weekly and monthly bank reconciliations - reconciliation of the bank statement against the GL and reconciliation of any assigned clearing accounts. • Responsible for journal creation for bank account transactions. • Maintain proper records and documentation. • Responsible for preparing and filing of HST, QST, and WSIB. • Provide support to the Comptroller in other accounting functions, including but not limited to month-end and year-end reconciliations, financial reporting, and analysis. • Participate in special projects as needed. • Identify and escalate potential issues with recommendations to the Corporate Comptroller. • Adaptability to changing duties and responsibilities. • Work with Comptroller on Human Resources functions, including but not limited to onboarding new employees, maintaining employee files / documentation, and benefits administration. • Vacation, sick and other leave tracking. • Responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, including adding and updating employee information in a 3rd party program. • General office administration duties. Requirements:
• Post-secondary education with a focus on business/accounting or 3+ years of relevant work experience • Organized and very detail oriented • Excellent interpersonal skills • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written • Bilingualism (French & English), both oral and written • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook) • Ability to manage multiple priorities • Able to meet strict deadlines • Ability to work in a team environment
