We are currently hiring for both Junior Estimator and Senior Estimator positions at our Dartmouth, NS location.Whether you are early in your estimating career and eager to learn, or an experienced estimator looking to lead complex projects and mentor others, this is an opportunity to grow within one of HRM's most established steel companies.Our estimating team works on a wide range of structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects, supporting everything from quantity takeoffs and proposal preparation to large-scale infrastructure tenders and design-build opportunities.Junior Estimator FocusAssist with quantity takeoffs and proposal preparation.Review architectural and structural drawings.Support bid submissions and estimating workflows.Gain exposure to miscellaneous metals, plate processing, and structural steel.Learn from experienced estimators while developing technical and industry knowledge.Senior Estimator FocusLead full-cycle estimating for large-scale infrastructure and steel fabrication projects.Manage tenders, RFPs, and design-assist/design-build opportunities.Finalize scopes, pricing, and proposal submissions.Identify value-engineering opportunities and process improvements.Provide mentorship and support to junior team members.This is a fast-paced, career-focused environment with strong opportunities for long-term growth, professional development, and continued learning.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESPrepare and/or assist with quantity takeoffs for structural steel and miscellaneous metals.Review architectural and structural drawings to determine project scope requirements.Prepare cost estimates, bid submissions, and proposals.Communicate with contractors, clients, and internal teams.Attend site visits as required.Ensure work aligns with project specifications and industry standards.Support collaboration between estimating, project management, and operations teams.Senior-level candidates may also mentor team members and support departmental improvements.POSITION REQUIREMENTSWe are open to candidates with varying levels of experience, from junior to senior estimators.Ideal Qualifications Include:Estimating experience in construction, steel fabrication, or an engineering-related environment.Ability to read and interpret structural steel and architectural drawings.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Effective communication and teamwork abilities.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Secondary (High School) diploma or equivalency.Canadian citizenship.Personal vehicle.Monday-Friday / on-site availability.VALUE-ADDED EXPERIENCE & EXPOSUREExperience with Bluebeam, Adobe Pro, CAD, Tekla Structures, or ERP/MRP systems.Background in trades or field construction.Post-secondary education or related industry experience.Project coordination exposure.Strong Excel and/or data analysis skills.Experience with proposal creation, collaborative design, or value engineer
