Availability to work weekend shifts is required.Purpose of PositionThe Lobster Cook / Labourer is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of lobster processing, with a focus on safe food handling, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the handling and cooking of live lobster, assisting with processing tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. This role supports the retail store operations and product quality.Reporting StructureThis position reports to the General Manager, Retail & Ecommerce & Store Supervisor.Duties & Accountabilities:Cook live hard-shell lobster in accordance with quality and safety standardsPack cooked lobster for travel, ensuring proper handling and presentationFollow all CFIA guidelines and complete required documentation and reportsPack live lobster to fulfill customer orders accurately and efficientlyWork safely around conveyor belts, forklifts, and trucks in a production environmentPrepare and assemble boxes for lobster packagingEnsure all operational procedures are followed, particularly for packing and handlingRecord and report information related to pack oversKey Behavioral Competencies:Dedicated, hardworking, and detail-orientedStrong communication skillsReliable and dependableCustomer service focusedEffective time management skillsQualifications:Excellent work ethicPhysically able to lift 100 pound crates with another employee if requiredAbility to work flexible hours if requiredExperience in a plant would be considered an assetFluency in English, additional language skills considered an assetWorking Conditions:Must be comfortable working with shellfish and seafoodAvailability required for a variety of shifts across seven daysHours of work typically range between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (Bedford location)Work location: Bedford Retail StoreThis is a full-time position with variable hours scheduled based on business needs
